For years and years I wanted a broad leaf aloe. I finally got one.
Then it had babies and suddenly I was overrun with aloes. So I gave babies away and felt better and less stressed, because I also had several other plants.
Then I got sick and a majority of my plants died, but my big aloe persevered. Until it suddenly didn't.
I was sad, and felt like a failure that I couldn't keep "easy" plants alive even at my bare minimum.
Now I only have 3 plants: a vine plant and 2 sparse pots of snake plants.
I feel so much better not having a ton of plants everywhere and worrying whether or not my kids were going to knock them over, or that they would get drowned because I watered them and so did Jay.
The end.
Moral of the story: only keep what you feel comfortable with. It goes for plants, or any other responsibilities. You are allowed to say no, and "No," is a complete sentence.
